Nuclear Medicine Technologist (11/9/11)

Job Duties: Administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients, performs daily quality control per state guidelines, receives and discharges delivers from pharmacies, properly handles radioactive waste, operates cameras and detectors to perform exams, explains test procedures to patients, maintains patient confidentiality, adheres to strict safety standards to reduce radiation exposure, maintains patient records, assists patients with special needs, assists the radiation safety officer with periodic inspections and quality control testing.

Experience/Technical Requirements: Applicant must have passed a nationally recognized Nuclear Medicine program. Applicants without an RT must be either CT certified, or willing to take and pass the examination. PET/CT experience a plus.

.Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, have physical stamina to turn or lift disabled patients. Must be able to operate complicated equipment, which requires manual dexterity. Must have own vehicle, as job duties may require travel to an from both facilities.
